I’m way behind in the thread. But, I did want to share my newest eBay find. Vintage Alden LWB in two tone!

Found some Brooks Brothers shell for eight dollars. Will post again after they are cleaned up. Who would be the most likely producer? Thanks

Different lighting but...

I noticed there is a buildup of the left lateral sole. Have to ask cobbler about that.

100% Alden. No question.

By the way, as an aside, I very recently picked up a pair of BB/Alden shell wingtips that have a couple of eyelets peeling similar to yours. I'd like to share notes with you about improving this issue (assuming you plan to tinker with them). I've not been able to do much shoe work lately but this is on my list. I am not aware of a ready source for replacement painted eyelets and I don't really want to spend the cash to replace all of them unless I can find a very reasonably priced cobbler for the job, in which case I will convert them to brass.

Not if they are made for Brooks Brothers, in fact
Thanks - I was not aware of that distinction; all my Aldens have the combination width markings, but then, I don't have any Alden for BB in my collection.

Nail polish does the job.

Over the years I have had, in addition to my (about a dozen pair) normally-branded Aldens, I have had three Alden for BB pair, all without combination width markings. I have found, BTW, that the Alden for BB shoes can sometimes be gotten at a very modest price (but not always)
