What is pin grain?

Kind of pebbled looking. I don't have a pic handy but here is the catalog entry (1989). Watched one too long on eBay and then, it was gone.......

Caring for shark ? (AE Tulane) I've read some past posts, mention of Bicks 4 and VSC. I have these and have Saphir neutral cream and Renovateur. But no 'exotic' product. These, in bad light, have only had a wipe down and a Bick 4 round. Suggestions? Thank you.

Anyone know the year on these? I can't find them in the catalogs so far.

Those are awesome saddles. I’ve used Saphir reptan on my ? and ? with good results. It hydrates and leaves a nice shine. Bickmore also makes an exotic conditioner. It gets good amazon reviews.

You could. I don’t think it would hurt. Shark is hearty.

Mid 80s pin grain Strand. Similar to alpine grain.

All cleaned up. Found them in the 1976 catalog and in 1979 the Tulane II was out. So I'm dating them '76-'78?

Very nice-I believe the Tulanes that came out in ‘79-‘80 were imitation shark so buyer beware. These are the real thing ?

The imitation was the Tulane II

Here are the shell Florsheim Imperials after resting since Tuesday. The color remains about the same. Now that they've sat for a while, I wonder if I over conditioned. The treated shoe has a sort of tacky-slick feel and fingerprints easily. Perhaps that is bloom that needs to be brushed back in.

The ancient and mysterious black pebble grain LWBs.

Medieval implements and various emollients got them from 13 C to 13 D, now they fit great.

V-cleats at the edge; I'm thinking 1970's, possibly 1960's.

Anybody know these codes? Probably not Florsheim but if anyone has an opinion, LMK.
