I'm not going to take it to the Zippo level. This is as good as I'm going to get. Perhaps you can see a bit of the #8? Would you agree these are pre 1973 based on cleat? Looks pretty damn good to me. Here's how mine ended up after stripping the black polish.

Casual socially distanced Thanksgiving at home. Made a trip to the inlaws for some outdoor socialization and a walk.

First wear of my new to me Strands. Sized down 1/2 size and up a width from brannock.

I saw that pair. Great pick up. Your son 9eee? 8.5eee? I have a few pairs that will be posted for sale soon.

He started as an 8.5eee then grew an inch and to a 9eee (6 ft 1). That's a lot of height with a small base

My NOS 70s Florsheims and ten ish year old lobb Norways.

These two pairs have gone into extremely heavy rotation this fall and received a little TLC tonight.
I love the way they’re breaking in. Managed to take the time to really brush the cordovan despite a rogue saphir juvacuir bottle exploding all over my office carpet and creating a new project for me...
