So who's the maker of Cole Hann shoes that are made in USA? I saw a pair of tassel yesterday.

The contrast stitching looks nice.

Did you maintain the original stitching color? Or that was also dyed over.

An advantage of being born on Halloween is that I can dress to the nines and it doesn't seem out of place. I've decided to christen these tomorrow. Made in 1975 or 85, probably 85 give the resurgence of 50s style during the period. I have second thoughts because they may be the last NOS pair out there, certainly rare. But I keep reminding myself I'm not running a museum.

Thanks! White shirt black skull & bones tie this year. BB suit with bright purple pinstripes. It's my "birthday suit", only time it gets worn ?

The Shell gods smiled on me today. Estate sales usually only have junky shoes left. But, today was a good day for supper minty Allen Edmonds Shell. Will post pics later.

So I picked up a couple of pairs of shoes today at Goodwill and I was hoping somebody can help me identify them since neither pair has any makers branding on them.
The first pair is a pair of shell plain toe bluchers. The heel cap says "nylon" and "cats paw" on them
and then the size, 8.5B, and numbers on the inside of the shoe. Other numbers which can not be seen in the photo are: 308 377381

The next pair has some numbers on the inside and a symbol on the heel cap which appears to be original. The numbers are: 385 J4783 COMB. 8034. It kills me that the shell are too narrow for my feet so I'm going to condition them and put them on Ebay. The second pair fit so I'll keep those.

Reminds me of these catch and release that were even too small for me.

Was really bummed to let them go for cheap.

Paid $35 to have new heels put on my early '40s US Army combat boots. Cobbler couldn't get original style heels, unfortunately. Work is so-so; he specializes in modifying shoes for clients with different length legs, so I'm not sure what to expect. They're covered with ground rubber, too, which I haven't brushed off yet.

The second pair look just like a pair of Sears shoes I have, made for Sears by Hanover.

So who's the maker of Cole Hann shoes that are made in USA? I saw a pair of tassel yesterday.

Older models from the 90s are most likely made by Rancourt, in particular the ones that have "Made in Maine". Blake stitched but decent quality, uppers are hit and miss, and I've seen some models with corrected grain.

The older, goodyear welted, Cole Haan from the 60s and 70s, under the "Imperial Grade" imprint, these were in fact made in the old Cole Haan factory.

I also read that Hanover made shoes for them at some point but not sure when or what models.

sorry, but not shell. They have fine cracks on the folds on the vamp. Shell would never do that. Neat shoes though.
