Mysterious. I think the NST gators are early sixties. Dating? Don't know. Are they at least 4" wide? The black ones are modern with the decal and heel finish and look corrected grain on my monitor.
If they are from the 60's, they should mention "Field & Flint" on the sole stamp. Around 1970, the dropped that name. If not, probably early 1970s. At some point they switched to the sans serif don't too. I looked that up once but do not recall what I found. The fellow who runs LaRossa Shoe specializes in FootJoy and likely had more info.

You forgot Pecards. Its great for long term dryness (not red rot stage). I rehabbed a pair of 1930s French spectators (the store they came from closed in 1940!) with Pecards. But they stayed coated in it for like 12 months. Molesworth Canadian "Leather Lotion" cleaner conditioner is as good as Cadillac creme or Bick4 and smells the same.

I have a big Gladstone bag I am giving a long term rehab. I really need to clean it with metho or stripper because as Lee (at bespokeaddict) says you really don't get penetration of conditioner if there is residual polish hanging around. In the meantime it's has had 6 months of a Pecards and Molesworth bath before I take it home and get serious.
Quite right! I do like Pecard's lotion. Their cream/dressing, not so much (looks like Vaseline). I used their antique leather dressing on a vintage walrus gladstone. It's been sticky ever since. It was my first attempt at restoring vintage leather. Nineteen years later, I'm at a loss as to how I'm going to get the dust off of it!

Paging @davidVC, these Florsheims must be really old, right? I'm guessing 1950's or 60's?

I wish I could find some Florsheims like these in my size. The ones you are watching are fantastic. Florsheim has a number of other monk strap chukkas (“guardsman boots”) that are really cool. But, it’s hard to find them without the square toe.

Seen these already?

Does 9C work for you with thin socks?

Not my shoes.

Golden Harvests in 9.5D. Pretty decent shape and great price.

The Goodwill Crockett & Jones pair from Thursday; Dack's trees fit them best. @Resipsaloquitor, did you end up with an odd Dack's tree last time we met up? LMK, I'd like to reunite a pair if they match one of these next time we get together.

Antique Burnished Tan is what C&J calls this color. Their own-brand equivalent model is the 'Rosebery'.

Stuart's Choice branding on the footbed, but they're marked 330 inside which is a classic C&J last.

Total vintage violation but these are great shoes, wish they were my size.

I think those may be my size if you decide to flip them. I have zero experience with that C&J last though and loafers are invariably dicey for me.

Nice C&J’s. But seriously, how the hell are those a goodwill find?! It’s just nuts the stuff you find out there.
