Did you mean bulling?

Yes they look like they’ve had far too much polish applied.

I once cleaned up an ex military pair of Tecnic veldtschoen shoes and they had a really thick layer of black wax over most of the shoe to the point that they looked black rather than brown. I managed to melt it all off with a hairdryer and then a bit of renomat afterwards and they came up well in the end.

The shoes listed are cracked but layers of polish can exaggerate this. A light sanding can remove some cracking, but only worth while in certain cases.

Having looked at the ad again, the cracks look too deep to be saved in my opinion.

Supposed to be working from home... but had to run to the office again, so put on my Bostonian 5800 shell LWBs for the trip. I've had unplanned trips to the office on 2 out of my 3 WFM days this week. I'm not doing so well at this lockdown thing.

Someone just listed a lot of interesting shoes on Yahoo Japan's auction site. It's quite literally like someone is liquidating a vintage shoe collection, and there are some pretty amazing shoes for sale.

I just thought I'd share some links and grabbed photos for anyone wants to enjoy some shoe pr0n.

First, here's a link to the seller's items for sale:

Here are some of the shoes that caught my attention:

This seller has now posted a bunch of other shoes on Yahoo Japan's auction site. Some pretty interesting shoes for sale. Unfortunately, most of them aren't in my size. :(

If anyone is desperate for any of these shoes, send me a PM. Maybe we can figure out how I can proxy them. Shipping could be expensive, but if it's a unicorn...

You're a shoe addict, enabler, and great shoe friend. In essence, all the makings of a gentleman.

Sent you a PM.

I finished those Alden shell saddles. Here is the before.

They were pretty dry. I took the light color to mean that, anyways, because they darkened after cleaning with glycerin saddle soap.

The saga of the orange peel vamp was never resolved, but they turned out decently enough. A light coat of cordovan cream evened out the color, and I added a light coat of neutral Propert's cream. Finally, a light coat of clear Kiwi was added to the toes.

I think that I over conditioned, though. That's a lot of bloom.

Sure, they're not perfect, but for my $55 introduction to shell, I'm happy.
