Interesting. Obviously a lot of work went into those. But the inside of the shoe looks well used for something listed as NOS.

I think they may be missing the original heel pads.

How do you decipher the date code on AE?

Probably it was not in the box or the box was mangled. Perhaps the dust and some moisture made it appear well used.
