How about Yahoo oku? Prices might still.not be as good as eBay but I found the choice to be wide for shoes (with all the brands you mentioned).

Too bad Japan is not as much a thrift heaven for vintage shoes as it is for clothes... Also too bad discerning shop buyers/consumers over there make prices higher...

I check ヤフーオーク all the time. Prices are often about 2x ~ 3x what you'd expect to find on eBay, but every once in a blue moon something decent comes up.

I've bought a few pairs over here, but most of the real deals come from overseas.

Wingtip Wednesday. Florsheim in CG with Vibram Eton soles. These are invincible in wet weather.

Finally found something at the thrift store. Not my size, but vintage English made Dacks. Anyone 8.5E? Message me. I can let them go for a reasonable price.

Has anyone explored the possibility of having a Topy applied over the original vcleat heel?

I've always wondered the same. Though I assume it would throw off the balance of the shoe.

Thrifting shell seems to be 10x easier than decent vintage boots, so I was happy to find these tonight. Ideas on the age? No size unless that's what's marked through. Or possibly they were custom and the owner was crossing through his name?

Wow, those are super cool. I'd put them around the 1950s for age. I don't see the usual size markings, but during that era Florsheim put a number on the footbed, usually high 30s or low 40s that corresponded to size. You can see it just poking out under that heel pad. It looks like it might be 44? If you can confirm the number, I have enough Florsheims from that era that I can compare and tell you what size they are. It doesn't help with the width though.

I knew you'd come through with solid info. The number is 41.

What is that size numbering based on?
