Yay or nay or yuck?
They aren’t bad. I love that style. I have some 1971 AE monk strap chukkas that l really like. They have a timeless toe box and styling. I can’t tell if the ones you asked about have a square toe. If appear that they do but it’s not that square. Lost more pix of you have them. That’s just my $.02.

I like the style also - and the pebble grain on it. The toe is not too square.

Today’s selection is vintage classic elegance (at least I think so). Probably a little fuddy-duddy. But, I’m okay with that.

These are the Footjoy Tassel loafers that were in such bad shape.

Here’s the before:

Here they are today:

I still need to work on a couple scratches/gouges on the toe. But, I really like these loafers.

I bought a new pair of FJ dress shoes last year. They have been cutting down on the styles they make and now they only have one style left. It’s a handsome cognac cap toe.

I also discovered this morning that they have a new line called 1857. They have a few additional styles. A Wingtip, monk strap, and a suede cap toe.

They do have a design your own option, but when I contacted customer service they said changing the sole to leather is no longer an option.

I need to tap the considerable creativity of this group.

The Footjoy golf shoes from @Hotel Cali has reignited my desire to turn some FJ golf shoes into dress shoes. But, I’m also interested in taking a white pair and dyeing them.

I’m not sure I want to do just one color. I’m thinking of two tone. But, I’m not completely decided. I have an old pair of FJ that are white. They have some cool details. But, are boring.

here’s a picture of a similar pair.

I don’t want to do black and white — too much like typical golf shoes. Any other ideas? Or advice or suggestions?

I successfully dyed a pair of white shoes black. So, I have some experience.

If anyone comes across a pair of New or very lightly worn longwings in brown (Florsheim, Lloyd Haig, etc) in a 10A or B, I'd welcome the friendly link.
