Picked up these Florsheim Imperials at the thrift. According to vcleat.com, they could be made in 1974,84, or 94. Maybe you guys can chime in as to the exact year? They have a rubber toplift on them stating Florsheim in capital letters.
Leather is very soft compared to 93602. Now to choose correct shoelaces.

I vote buffalo or water bison.

They’re made in England, so my best guess is ranch oxhide.

Given that they have the script logo with flourishes and they do not say made in USA or made in India, I would vote for 84 as opposed to 94.

Mystery model of vintage Florsheim cap toes today. I dyed these and put a leather liner in the insoles. They are great but I’d say the materials are not quite as nice as the imperial line. But the stitching is every bit as fantastic.

Nice looking pair. I have something similar, and they're 1950s vintage.

I agree. They appear to be a 1980s pair.

So my small army of thrifted vintage Florsheim 93602 long wing brogues keeps growing. On the left are the youngest pair, which are in NOS condition. I just treated them with Saphir Renovateur and Saphir medium brown Creme Surfine till I figure out where to go with them in color and detailing. Next pair are a little older; I used Venetian Shoe Cream and Meltonian dark brown cream polish on them. I'm selling these due to the problem of too many 93602's. The next two pairs I thrifted eight month ago from the same shop. Third pair from the left I'll gradually make a red mahogany shade for variety's sake. The last pair are the darkest shade and I'm going to keep them dark brown.

The whole lot of these cost less than $40. They all have thick double oak soles and good replacement heels that have kept me out of the cobbler shop, emergency room and trauma center better than the original V cleats would have. But what made this haul even more amazing, to me at least, is that it included an equal number of black LWBs, some custom shell 93605s and a pair of Church's Chetwynds. Also some Church's nappa leather slippers that almost paid for the whole thing when I sold them. Plus NWOB moose moccasins, lasted shoe trees, some other shoes like AE Polos but I'll stop there. These came out of a tiny church-affiliated thrift in a neighborhood where the shops cater to recent immigrants from Central America, who evidently don't often wear size 14 shoes. So what I'm trying to say is definitely stop in at thrifts that are a little out of the way from time, you just never know what you'll find.
