    Very high and short instep. I have only found one pair which work well for me the Dack's wholecuts.

    So, here's a dilemma. I already have a pair of Florsheim Royal Imperial LWB (96624) in black cashmere calf. I also have Mason Executive Imperial, AE MacNeil, and Weyenberg black pebbled LWB. Do I really need another pair?

    There is currently a pair of Imperial (92604 Kenmoor) LWB in black cashmere calf for ~$40 including shipping. Pre-1973. Pretty decent shape.

    For reference, when they look this:

    ...the finish is “end of life” and the only future for the shoes involves stripping them. Your shoes look like they’re quite a ways from looking like the mess above.

    The real question is do you want another pair? I know what my answer would be (because I’d like another pair of vintage 9117 MacNeil’s and a NOS or near NOS pair of black pebble 96624’s).

    2. I used a foam sanding block powered by my arm. It worked really well.

    Alden dyes its shell cordovan prior to applying an acrylic coating. I suspect what you feel is polish is likely the dye. Also the description in the listing isn't entirely correct. Those are 360 not 270 welted shoes, and I don't think they are contrast stitched. That being said, I think the color on that pair is outstanding. I would check with the seller and confirm they are first quality and not seconds.

    Yup, 9147 Polished Cobbler. Sadly delusional seller has an item worth, at best, 10% of what they’re asking.
