As requested, below are a few photos of my AE McGregor pair.

I believe they were made in the 80s because of the AE logo. The vamp has drill lining.

This is un-possible. How can this be?! A full 6+ years after the MacGregor was discontinued (looks like 85 date code, definitely 80’s branding), someone, or some store, special ordered them. Yet those are MacGregor’s (in this case, labeled as McGregor, which was their name back in the 40’s). These even have the cotton drill lining which was pretty much gone from the lineup by then.

Mc/MacGregor examples -

@Thomas Crown’s awesome pair (I copied his cool lacing style).

DavidVC’s unpossible 1985 pair:

Between these, those crazy MacNeil’s, your NOS French Shriner’s, etc., I don’t know how you do it. What I do know is I really want to go shoe shopping with you (man, I’m sounding weird again).

I also know that I have an unhealthy obsession with the (Mc)MacGregor. So thanks for sharing yours; really cool find.

OK Guys:

I get your message, but how can I take a look at the 2018 Fall catalog and decide? Can you direct me to a website as I am unable to find it?

I want to help you realize your dreams of snickering at the awfulness of the fall catalog, but I threw mine in the recycling pile so I assume it’s long gone. Maybe someone in the AE Thread can help you not let your dreams just be dreams.

That is certainly my size. But such a posting is like shouting "Squirrel" to a dog. I instinctively jump but I have no reason to get them. I already have Alden and AE burgundy PTBs that are in much better condition. But, be sure to always point out that size to me. :bounce2:
But, honestly now, you’re totally gonna buy those, right?

Are these vintage AE? I have never seen that writing for AE.

If it's some kind of gem, maybe @mariusscott can grab them.
Those are first gen Independence Line Harrison’s. Not really vintage, but they’re AE’s top line, and the first gen Indy’s are very good quality. Certainly a good shoe (they used retro AE branding on the first gen AE Indy’s, thus the vintage confusion).

I have no idea what those white shoes are.

Nope, not me. They would come in third place every time I would want to wear a shell PTB.
