    Hi Guys:

It's funny as I just picked up my pair of Florsheim shell PTBs from the cobblers this morning as he installed a pair of Cat's Paw heels on them. When I dropped them off and asked for the heels he came up with a box full of them and we chose the right size for my shoes. At that time I asked him if they were still available and he said they were! American Biltrite claims they have them but I can't find them on their site although it seems there are hundreds of listings on eBay. The heels cost me $CAD25 plus tax. He also has a section for good shoes and one for schlock.

I heard a rumor today whilst talking about the shoe shop and followed it up.

The fine looking master cobbler in the picture is the man who has my Cole-Haans right now. I'm guessing the heels will turn out pretty well.

My main cobblers in Vancouver (Quick Cobbler) and Sudbury (Heels N Sole) have access through their suppliers to cat paw heels. I don't know who their respective suppliers are.

Quick Cobbler did not charge me extra for cat paw heels. Heels N Sole charged me extra 15, I believe.

I want to express my appreciation and gratitude to the members of this thread, especially our leaders for keeping it on topic, civil, and fun.

The "Ultimate Toronto Thread" took an ugly turn. No need for details.

While we may disagree on the best vintage shoes, or what constitutes #8, I find we rarely dive into the abyss of inappropriate discussions or get personal with nasty comments.

And when it does happen, as I have been guilty of, members call it out, and the behaviour ceases.

Thank you for the great escape, everyone. Keep it up.

I am replacing mine in a batch. Cheaper to replace than the price of strangers laughing at me as I skip and slide in public.

Sorry for the delayed response as I just say this mentioned elsewhere. There is certainly that potential but I have not experienced it yet. I think this is because I do not polish them much, and when I do it is sparingly little polish. I also do an initial wiping buff before using the brushes.

I always thought the walnut colour won't work with black pants. Boy was I wrong.

I am in Vancouver at least once a year. Who is your go to cobbler? If Quick Cobbler, I am already a loyal customer.

Are these the end of era "assembled in USA"?
