Recently I found a pair of early 1950s Florsheim blue label short wing bluchers. Model S1427. It has a gunboat style with storm welt and double leather soles. The color is that orange-red shade that was popular in the 1940s or 1950s. The pair has very little wear. The welt stitching is pretty amazing.

But ... the left shoe has cracking and a rip in the collar of the shoe. Looks like someone tried to glue it at one point. So that was disappointing. I will probably put them up for sale on ebay at some point. Someone will repair them. And love them.

That achilles heel cracking is an easy repair for such a nice pair.

I just read a brief page on Pistolero. Pretty cool company.

Let us know how they feel, fit, and match up against the giants!

Don’t keep the company information to yourself. Give us an overview. Never heard of them, but I might find a pair tomorrow.

About Pistolero: What do you get when a Japanese designer with a penchant for classic American Ivy League style moves to Los Angeles and partners with an artisan manufacturer of cowboy boots in Laredo, Mexico? You get Pistolero, a small line of bench-made, Goodyear welted shoes and boots that we instantly fell in love with for their quirky story, fabulous quality and exciting interpretation of classic men’s style. The line is mostly sold in Japan and we’re excited to offer a few styles at Brooklyn Tailors. They’re great looking, built to last, and they come at an exceptional price.

Description: The Cambridge Wingtip is a classic full-brogue shoe with the pinking and perforation details traditional to the style. The Goodyear welting and thick leather give the shoe a sturdy weight.

Color: Shiny Burgundy Calf

Origin: Made in Mexico

Sole: Leather - Goodyear welted
I wish they fit me but I'm a 13D. So these are available in 10.5 from me; if anyone wants to buy or trade and give their review, PM and let me know.

^ You can get a cobbler to stitch a similar-colour leather on top of the heel. But you have to choose carefully - the aesthetic could go very very wrong.

You beat me to the draw! @smfdoc - we should all get a pair. Prices seem ok.

Interesting website. They carry some nice shoes. Trickers, Cheaney are both good names. Some good sales right now on some as well. No EEE widths so I will pass, as does frequently happen.

Looking at the shoes on the site, they remind me of Grant Stone a bit. I would've liked to have seen the bottoms of the outsole. Not a bad price, at all.

Check out the last photo in this Grailed listing:

Edit: for some reason the site keeps replacing the word "grailed" with "ebay" when I try to paste in the text, so I added a space before the dot-com.

Thank you! Looks nice, I prefer a dovetail heel though. They don't make a bad looking boot either.

Yeah, EEE width sucks.
