Might work. I'm convinced I've felt that change in some of my used shoes with just body heat. But they may be too far gone. Wyatt and Dad redid insoles and of course cork and outsoles in a pair of 1970s AE Tulanes for me. I love em.

Yeah, if the dude before you was super fat, he is going to have compressed the cork so much it might be hard to change things.

What I was thinking of is something like a hot, wet towel, and then stand in them while they're still wet, then allow to dry.

I honestly do not know if this would be wise or not. Generally I try to avoid putting wet into shoes.

Do Mason Executive Imperials have a vinyl/plastic welt? Or is it leather?
Plastic for sure. I believe their shell cordovan line might use leather.

Back at the store that I found a pair of 1950s Ventilated shoes other day and my luck is still there. A pair of John Mchale Bombers fit like a glove. Not in great condition but with just a little cleaning and polishing they look quite nice on feet.

These kudu wholecuts are classics. I have a black pair which is one of my favorites. The brown pair here has such rich coloration which accentuates the kudu. I think I prefer the brown kudu wholecuts but I’ve never been able to find a brown pair in my size of 9.5D/E to 10D.
I was lucky to find them in both brown and black. I agree - the brown made the grain stand out. I got the brown pair from @gorebug.

Ditto. My favorite kudu on the thread. The coloration and grain stand out like no other kudu I can recall. I have been looking for something with similar contrast, not necessarily in a whole cut, since I saw those shoes. Haven't been able to find something similar in 11 B in a couple of years of low level looking.

I'm one of those customers and I really regret not seeing this post until now.

Bought some shoes from Sevan Minasian, didn't fit, returned them. Parcel was delivered but he claims the signature isn't his and I'm not going to see any refund obviously.
I was naive enough to trust him due to a number of positive recommandations and I'm wondering how come he hasn't been exposed yet if it appears he regularly steals his customers. I'm looking to take legal action and I'd be interested in any stories about other unfortunate customers that got abused in a similar way, feel free to pm me.
Hi Taznavian: Sorry to hear what happened to you. Obviously my message is very late compared to your posting but I had the exact same experience. I was looking to take legal action, unfortunately, I was traveling overseas for work and didn't pursue it. You can send me an email on my personal email address at [email protected]. Looking forward to hear from you. Best, Bernard

Time to atone for some of my vintage violations.
IMG_0459.jpeg

These date from 1963 at the latest.

The brand name was a pun.

The marketing angle was that they were worn by campus trend setters back in the 'Take Ivy' era.

I think the size marking indicates 9 1/2 C or D. Last clue, they were made in Massachusetts. Can anyone guess the maker?
