I have heard of Collonil leather cream for a while. However, I had never used it. I got some last week and was going to try it out.

somebody posted a description of how they use it on Shell. Is it essentially:

1. brush
2. Apply Collonil lightly
3. REST (for how long?)
4. Then brush again.

is that it?

Yeah, that is pretty much it. The Collonil jar says to allow 20 minutes to dry and this can be done. I spread mine on so thin that you can see it dry in just a few minutes. I have not seen any real difference in the quick and longer dry time. If it's dry it is good to go for the brush or the buff. I think this was a few minutes drying.

You can do that. Try buffing with your bare hand. The shine is amazing.

Any idea on these longwings? Bottoms say “Fully Leather Lined”. No id on the leather insole from what I can tell. Tried pulling up one of the dr scholls inserts and only thing I could see is what appears to be a silver sticker.

Florsheim Imperial longwing kiltie tassel loafers and what some members may recognize as the floor of the Gelson's Market on Ventura and Hayvenhurst in Encino CA.

I had to travel for work and appear at a mediation. I wanted something comfortable, simple, and semi dressy.

This is Florsheim 13005 — black Shell Cordovan PTB. According to vcleat these are from the late 90’s which makes them among the very last made in USA Florsheim Shell Cordovan.

The lighting in my hotel was terrible. So, it doesn’t really capture the depth of the Shell. Black Shell is sometimes overlooked and I admit it doesn’t have quite the character of the other colors
