It's the beginning of fall. Golden Harvests seemed to be in order.

There hasn’t been much activity on here recently. It’s really noticeable on Wingtip Wednesday. Is everyone on late summer vacation?

No time like the present to get the first wearing in.

Got three coats of color on the left shoe over the course of today so far. I'll add the 4th and final coat later today, wait about 24 hours, and then apply a coat of acrylic finisher. After that sits about 24 more hours, I'll tint it down with some light brown shoe cream, work on the edges, and clean up the excess color on the bindings. Then they should be ready to wear!

The economy is kicking everyone in the teeth. $5 gas and $3.69 for a carton of eggs is leaving nothing left over for a pair of shoes.

Inflation sucks.

I love my Golden Harvest pair - they're fantastic with denim, and I wore them a few weeks ago for a wedding reception that was being held in a historic home near the White House, paired with a wool/linen suit. It's a pairing I don't think I've ever done before, and now I'm not sure why. There were so many things going on I didn't even think to take a pic, but these shoes:

Great stuff. Wandering around Georgetown in the wee hours of the morning, the suicide heel felt right at home...
