Very clever and amazing skills with a needle and thread.I previously mentioned the Florsheim patent leather shoes I picked up for formal night on a cruise.

On a related note, I wanted several shirts for "formal" night. I can't really justify buying multiple tuxedo shirts to accommodate studs for the buttons, so I modified several of my current dress shirts to use either existing buttons OR the tuxedo studs. Start with an existing dress shirt. This one already had French cuffs.

I sewed in a 5/16 button hole just above the existing button. Yeah, I am handy that way.

The 5/16 hole securely holds the back of the stud and allows the front of the stud through.

Now the shirt will work with either buttons or studs.

Black shell PTBs are the best PTBs. Very elegant, understated shoe. I love my pair of LB Sheppherd Hanovers in this style. In fact, I might wear them right now. These are the black shell Florsheim 92650 PTBs from last week. I cleaned with VSC, applied Leather Milk and a little wax. The rolls mostly smoothed out when I gradually extended the trees, but they'll probably come right back.

With light coming in from the right side, I can see some burgundy undertones beneath the black.

Indoors they definitely look black, but the change in appearance in different lighting conditions is one of the intriguing things about shell in my opinion.

Thank you. No hand skills used. I actually have 4 vintage sewing machines. The one for this project was made Jan 1940, just 82 years ago. A Singer 201 with a button hole attachment as this machine does not even zig-zag. They can be a lot of fun and come in handy.Very clever and amazing skills with a needle and thread.
I had a 201 and it was great but it seemed every time I had a sewing project it demanded something much heavier duty, I ended up with a light industrial machine.Thank you. No hand skills used.
