And after. Only used a little burgundy cream polish to touch up the rough spots, then VSC and brushing under flowing water to get off the old caked-on polish. I think they’re almost ready to go.

i have never heard of brushing with flowing water. That’s a pretty cool tip!

I'm going to have to try that when I can get my hands on some Fiebing's Edge Kote.

Seems like it might work better than black enamel nail polish... and probably get less funny looks from store clerks.

Much better than nail polish, which works OK, but dries stiff. This stuff soaks in better and is flexible. It’s made for leather too.

Got the toplines almost back to spec. It may be time for some Edge Kote (tm) if I can get the color match right.

These vamps are so bodacious, I may need to open an Instagram account for them.

I have been working on cleaning up a pair of mid 1950's Hartt Bluchers this morning. The pre-Dacks (1958) acquisition Hartts are hard to come by. This pair is a 10.5E, which works well for me.

Hm. Hadn't heard of that product. It seems like people are using Tokonole like a regular shoe polish. Interesting. If I see it anywhere I might pick up a bottle to try.

Yup. The nail polish cracks and flakes off. I'll pick up a bottle of Edge Kote (tm) next time I'm back in the states.
