Inspired by posts on this thread and Vcleat.com, I am enjoying these recent vintage additions to my shoe collection. 1978 Florsheim Imperials, 80’s FootJoy, and Crockett & Jones spectators. Not shown are a pair of Allen Edmonds Macneils in black cordovan that are having the heels replaced. This is just two weeks and I clearly have the bug.

Welcome! I have 33 pairs of shoes. More than half are used, and or, vintage. All due to this group and vcleat.com.

They sold all their stuff, but there are plenty of bigger hides (half is more than plenty) on eBay if you sift through a search for "Leather hide"

In celebration of this wonderful community, here's my small collection of Dack's. Sorry for the poor photos, they all do look much prettier in person.

Florsheim SWO got the call for the annual dinner/meeting tonight. Left my red laces in.

Just recently, I wore my black Thompson wholecuts (Blake stitched with a thin piece of leather over the outsole covering the stitches) to a wedding on New Years's Eve stepping on salt and a little slush. Afterwards, I wiped off the salt and looked at the outsole damage. I had some Tarrago dark brown creme polish that I applied to the soles and then buffed with a brush. I was very surprised at the results. It not only seemed to moisturize the sole but returned it to the dark brown color the sole was and even if the sole wasn't new it looked very good and almost new. I know that these shoes aren't vintage but I just wanted to pass along my experience. I hope it helps someone else. The amount of info I have learned from these forums has been great and helped me with this situation and others as well.

Welcome to the forum and the thread. Those shoes are a great start to a very fine collection and I look forward to seeing their friends as the collection grows.

They're all stamped in various forms as Made In Canada, the Canadian in me love it. The cap toed Oxfords state New Brunswick, the rest nondescript. The oxblood wings, split toes and long wings are all 150th anniversary.
While I'm in photo mode... a pair of Hanover Imperials, lovely. And not sure if they qualify as vintage, but I think the transformation of these Ferragamos was eye opening for me.

Thanks. I have a place where I routinely take some photos to get some natural light and I shot this today. I SWEAR that this will be the last picture of them for a while.

Next week I'm sure there'll be several in progress shots of people duplicating these
