These are the Griffin’s Shoes I bought a few weeks ago. They were private labeled for a shoe chain in North Carolina. Based on the logo in the shoes, I would guess that they were made between 1965 and 1978. If anyone recognizes the sizing/model layout from another manufacturer, please holler. The other potential tell-tale sign is the wrap around heel counter. Construction is rock solid. SPI is pretty tight. It is a well made shoe.

EDIT: I think this is my 10th pair of black, textured LWBs. Just when I thought I was done, I find another interesting pair.

Check this out. Listed at $1575
Those are exceptionally cool! And I know it’s pretty difficult to place a value on these. But, I think this price is a little too optimistic.

Nice understatement.
ha! Well I was trying to give the seller a little benefit of the doubt. It would be hard to place a value on these. I can only say for me, I would probably price these a little lower.

As we all know the market determines values of things. It’s funny to think a used pair of 93605 at the time they were still being made were worth a lot less than they are now. These shoes are obviously VERY rare and thus the opportunity to acquire them is extremely limited.

No arguments here; I just took a look at the shoes and the asking price and thought, "No way anybody's going to pay that much for these." But you're right; the market decides, and maybe somebody actually will pay that much for those. In that case, good for the seller for correctly predicting what the market would bear.

Does anyone have experience with "Select Ryan Calf"?

A pair of Florsheim 96617s has popped up on auction in Japan. They look somewhat interesting, but I have no idea about the leather. Is it just regular calf with a different or un-textured calf leather?

Cool but unmatched shoe trees in a thrift give me sads. I searched the racks for the mates to these but had no luck.

Then, oh boy did the shirt rack pay off. 8x Isaia size 15 1/2 dress shirts, probably headed to Japan. A Loro Piana polo, a Comme des Garcons polo that fits me and some miscellaneous Patagonia and Arcteryx for my sons. PPU well under $5. But no shoes at this store, this time.
