Restraint? Restraint?!? You already have Brand New 93605s?
Despite our wishes those shoes will never be made again. You cannot touch that quality for $500 today.

Look again at @smfdoc s shoes.

You are saying no to GLORY. That's not restraint, that is future sadness and regret.

The Herbert Butler set has come back. These are the custom NOS 8.5 5e shell Florsheims that I bought. There were 5 in the lot. I could've bought 2.

Now, another seller has decided to sell his pair. Still NOS condition. I have been thinking about it everyday. 2 pairs of the same shoes???

On a day with snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, and then rain, need something a little more practical.

Blundstones it is. Anyone have a vintage pair made in Australia? Or have a pair of RM William?

Stay safe, thread brothers.

I had some Blundstones but they didn't work for my feet. I have 2 pairs of RM Williams, both pre-LVMH. Love them, very comfortable

So the Alden 975s looked a little grim when I opened the box. Shell looked to be in good shape, but seemed very grungy. Below you can see before and after: brushed to remove dust and then a quick pass with VSC on the left shoe, followed by more brushing. It's starting to look considerably better, but A LOT of color came off with the VSC, so it looks like there's a fair amount of cream/polish buildup I'll have to remove. For now, I'll probably take another round of VSC to see how much additional color is pulled before I figure out whether I want to get more aggressive. Next step is to sanitize them with cancer-in-a-can and then see how well the Barrie last fits.

Hey Trojan:

I have a pair of Barrie last Aldens and I have had others. I like the last very much, it seems to be quite similar to the AE 511 last but very slightly narrower. All in all very comfortable and the Alden PTB on the Barrie last is apparently their best seller.
