Disinfected them, tried them on, and wow! Got one of my so pretty happy. Soles are great, heels were replaced, and we’ll take them into the cleanup process.

I have a pair en route in the next few days. Can't wait to see how yours will turn out!

What colour will you use? @davidVC recommends Meltonian Camel.

    Hi Guys:

For my 10c worth please bring back a trial run of 936XX series LWB in the best leather you can get with no changes in design, build or quality. In 2 or 3 colours and with no V-Cleat but a rubber top lift. Same for the 936XX series PTB. I guess they would only be in a D width for economy but Florsheim would know better than I would.

I know there are other great styles and I'm sure some of you guys can chime in with your ideas.

    Hi again Guys:

    Further to my earlier post:

The reason for no reduction in quality may be obvious but requires some explanation. There are already a plethora of low cost good looking but cheaply made shoes available in every mall in North America and in order to justify a stiffer price point and set oneself apart from the pack then quality is key. If this is not followed, then Florsheim has a line of "Limited Edition" shoes which are of good quality and good value for money so the idea is to add to that line, not replace them. I don't know where they would be produced but Grenson makes a fine line of Made in India shoes which again, are of excellent quality and command premium prices so perhaps Florsheim could do the same. Clearly I'm assuming Made in the USA is out of the question. I wonder if any manufacturing facilities are available in Canada still?

Interesting to see if Florsheim is actually serious about a trial, eh. Let's all hope they are because I'm pretty sure they would have a hard core of loyal customers from this group alone.

Weather permitting, next week I will be making a silent plea by wearing these five pairs. A festival of Florsheim, all from the 80's and 90's:
    93605 shell LWB in #8
93602 handstained brown in a lighter shade
    96624 black cashmere calf LWB
97626 shell LWB in #8, the successor to the 93605
97625 a darker shade of brown successor to the 93602
These were all thrift finds at Salvation Army and St. Vincent dePaul. St. Vinny, the Patron Saint of Vintage Florsheim.
Figured I might as well post a group shot today while I have time, and before it starts raining again.

The great thing about having spare 93602s in the lab...
    Some Florsheim Imperial Spectators.

Stripping and dyeing done. Conditioning and polishing tomorrow.
I sure hope they add some things like these to the lineup when they reopen a Chicago factory!

Imagine these shoes for a moment, exactly as you describe. Now think of the quality and price point for first quality from AE and Alden. What would be the upper limit of price you would pay for calf and shell Florsheims MiUSA?

The conundrum of the century. Because I can still find vintage pairs at affordable prices... Hard to say. Assuming the vintages are non-existent.. I have to agree with @Shoonoob . Way more than I could ever hope to afford working at legal aid.

Now if I became a mob lawyer, then all bets are off. I'd be willing to pay $2000+ for a pair.
