i am looking for a pair of vintage brown suede boots with red laces. often called waffle stompers. i have been told to look for the brands kastinger, gronell, and corbis. i just can not find them for sale anywhere on the web. not sure where to turn now. any ideas, or has anyone seen these for sale anywhere?

that is what i was looking for, but the older ones, not the newer version. the newer ones might work, but i really like the looks of the old suede ones. and they are impossible to find. any ideas?

Try WalMart or K-mart. I'd bet any decently-stocked shoe repair shop would either have them or could get them as well. I just put a new pair in my hiking boots after tying the breaks in the old pair about five times. I don't recall where I got them but it was some low-end everything store like WalMart or Meijer.

Lowa appears to be one company that at least used to make them. You might try contacting them, but getting lucky on ebay might be the only way if you can't find a company that still makes the boots or find some deadstock.

I just saw a pair of NIB suede Lowas on ebay, but now I can't find the auction. They were about a size 3.5 though. Gone now.

Did you ever find the waffle stompers you were looking for? I am looking for a certain type from the 70's that were made out of light brown suede. All the new ones are not what I remember.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
