Came across a pretty cool little site that offers reproductions of workwear during the early half of the last century. http://www.old-town.co.uk An interesting study in style and function of workwear in the day... most of it appears to just be less formal versions of daywear. I like the unlined coats in particular.

I just thought of this... one of the four button coats reminds me of this gentleman from a certain game.

What game, nerd? Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I couldn't find the item you were talking about. I am guessing it was in the "Tin House/Workwear" section? The outerwear looked alright in both sections but the pants were horrible. I just looked quickly but I couldn't find anything about construction or quality.

Just rechecked and found the fabrics are good. Not sure about the construction. I think, for that price, I will stick to Beretta, Orvis, Filson or Barbour. I have always prefered a legacy to a resurgence. Beretta claims 500 years experience in Italian hunting gear, I think that is BS but I don't doubt it has been a very long run. Same for the other companies, to a lesser extent. Hmmmm....you just inspired me to create a thread..

Um, okay...

All of the coats are unlined or lined. You can see the basic layout of them as well as pictures by going to Old Town and Product in Detail.

I like the stove pipes, price seems a bit much without knowing what the quality is like though.

Guys at the Fedora Lounge speak quite highly of the construction and fabric quality.

That looks like very good stuff - thanks for posting this, Jovan.

My bank account is less thankful, though.

Equally to their credit however they do however seem to have some folks that are extremly knowledagable about vintage items of clothing outside of hats.

Be assured to not disagree with anyone about anything however or you will be booted out faster than the pig skin on superbowl sunday.
