Vintage Bass USA Weejun Shell Cordovan?

Did Bass make this style in a Shell Cordovan back when they were still made in USA? If so, I got lucky today.


Did they stamp them as Shell Cordovan inside? These have been 3/4 resoled with rubber, and a new rubber heal.


They sure look and" feel" like my vintage Shell Florsheim's, and the patina is so nice.


What do y'all think?

i think i see fine creases. if that is what i see, then no, probably not shell

a fine line of creases, I think more from absolute neglect, maybe?


does any calf have that smooth, plasticy "feel" of Shell? The sides just scream, SHELL, from the feel.

The photo could be a bit clearer, but those wavy creases look like shell.
