http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1948449 Vince Carter for Alonzo Mourning, Eric Williams, Aaron Williams, and two first round picks... I think Vince is one of the most overrated players in the history of the NBA...that's an awful lot to give up IMO.

Someone once asked Vince Carter if he was the best player in the NBA.  "I could be," Carter replied.  That pretty much sums him up in a nutshell.

Then again, I will never forget the dunking display he put on during the NBA All-Star weekend a few years ago.  There will never be a series of dunks that spectacular in the competition again.

The article is right in saying that Vince Carter with Richard Jefferson and Jason Kidd could be spectacular - but I'll be curious to see if it works in the East.

Sounds more like a Western Conference lineup, but then again, the Nets have pretty much always seemed more like a Western Conference team to me.

Isn't it kinda like the Paul Pierce, Antoine Walker show in Boston a couple years back?

Except that JKidd is a true point guard who will rack up the assists. I think it's a bold move by the Nets, and will probably pay off. They can only go up....

Carter for the first 3 years of his career especially was a human highlight real... the stuff he would pull off was at times superhuman. He might be over rated because of his injuries, but when he's on, I really don't think there are many who can match him.

I also think they gave up too much to get him. It's the draft picks that I think are too much. They've mortgaged their future on a player who hasn't proven he wants to step up and be the man. If he decides to really play, and that's a big if, they should be fun to watch. The Nets worst mistake though was letting Kenyon Martin go.

This trade was good for Jersey because Kidd would have started pushing for a trade if they didnt get him some help. I still don't know the logic behind Toronto trading Carter for such a meager group. Zo who was very good at one time is very iffy now and The William's are hard workers and hustle a bit but can't help a team without an allstar win.
Carter doesn't seem to want to be a leader so its good he'll have to defer to Kidd, the team will be very exciting Richard Jefferson is an amazing athlete and Carter is probaly the best Dunker of All-time and an exceptional scorer.
Does anyone remember when he jump over the 7'2 guys head and dunked? The best dunk ever hands down.

Vinsanity isn't overrated because of his injuries, he's overrated because he has no heart.

Vinsanity is back, baby.  All VC needed was a little motivation.
