That's a good laptop. They have LED backlighting now? That's pretty cool.

The $899 one should run almost everything also, but I'd rather pay the extra $100 for the extra cpu speed and RAM.

The only gripe I'd have is the slow hard drive but that's just being picky. Pick it up if you can, and see if you can't find it cheaper from another store. Best Buy prices aren't that great.

friend of mine has that laptop and he can run almost anything. I have an ASUS as well (N81VP-D1) and I really haven't had trouble with most games I want to play.

Civ Rev is on the iPhone? Dear god that sounds terrifying...is it good, or just addictive?

My only comparison point is Civ 3 on Mac. Game runs choppy when it's busy, and there's not as much micromanagement. It's Civ Lite, but a full Civ game would be too much on a small phone screen.

Worth the $7 IMO.

okay, so they're switching to hexes (exponentially greater tactical depth), and there's no unit stacking anymore, which is AWESOME as i've always found unit stacking a bit of an odd mechanic since stacks can only attack each other one unit at a time this is fantastic no wonder they're releasing the old square-tile-based civ on facebook as a free multiplayer game that'll be cool too, no doubt, but this looks like the thing to have

I just beat Mass Effect, lots of fun but WAAAY too short. 12 hours for an rpg? Almost laughable when compared to the likes of Final Fantasy, Elder Scrolls, etc. At least I can start ME2 as soon as it finishes downloading.

Did you explore the galaxy or did you just do the main quest? Since you've mentioned TES, I will draw a comparison between Mass Effect and Oblivion: the main quest doesn't take that long, but you'll need lots of time to explore everything else. My first playthrough took 40 hours.

ME2 is shorter, but that's ok with me since they're rigging up plenty of DLC for it. They wanted to do more DLC for the first one but something went wrong and they didn't.

Looking forward to Dragon Age: Awakening. I'm wondering whether I should keep my mage elf or complete my playthrough with my dwarf noble. They both kick a lot of ass.

WTF, Mass Effect 1 in 12 hours? I did mostly just the main quest in the first one, because I thought I could go back and do the side quests (I couldn't), and it took 28 hours.

Mass effect 2 was 37 hours for me.

In Oblivion the sidequests were the main attraction, in ME they seemed like busywork. I only did a few of them.

Is there any way to retrain powers in Dragon Age? Even via a mod?

I want to make that blond Templar guy a sword and board guy.

Bought Heavy Rain on Tuesday (for $59), finished it on Wednesday (with a couple different endings), sold on eBay on Thursday ($55).

Didn't expect the sex scene.
