Cross-posted from 02-18-2006 AAAC forum post:
Here's an excellent video of Paris shoe artisian Antoine at work. It's in French, but definitely worth viewing:
Here's Antoine's web site in French:
http://www.latelier-dantoine.com/
And here's his translated web site in English, possibly missing some photos:
http://babel.altavista.com/translate...om%2F&lp=fr_en
If you are interested, I came across this by registering on this French forum:

(I use NetCaptor, http://www.netcaptor.com/, which is a browser that works on top of Internet Explorer - works separate from IE, but requires that IE be installed . NetCaptor has a great web page translation feature under its Tools menu that lets you translate from French to English, and many other languages. If you register for the above forum, you need to register on the French site, not the English translated site. You can then log in on the French site, and translate the forum contents to English using NetCaptor once logged in. NetcCaptor is free, although I paid for, and use the Pro version. For me at least, NetCaptor beats any other browser I have tried - IE, Opera, Firefox, Mozilla, etc. I have no affiliation with NetCaptor.)
