Not a traditional sock maker and it shows.
Very inconsistent quality.
Lots of brittle socks (silk/wool houndstooth pairs)
Lots of shrinking socks that become too tight to put on (silk/wool houndstooth pairs)
Lots of elastic going bad (nail pin socks)
Shadow socks seem good
Silk/wool ribbed socks are good
Many bad socks.
Herringbone silk/wool = good but can suddenly turn bad
One or two pairs got holes within the first day

Viccel have a long way to go before they become a respectable sock maker.

I've been wearing their socks for years, and I can say that quality of material and customer service have gone downhill. They were never great with customer service, but they came through, but my last order had holes in two pairs, and all the socks were slippery, like they had cheap spray coating, and it took a few washes for them not to slip in my shoes.
Anyhow, emails kept getting bounced back when I tried to get replacement for the sock with holes in them, so I had to resort to Instagram to communicate. It took a few days, but at first they were responsive, but then all of a sudden made a left turn and said that metal in my shoes must have rubbed against the sock and made the holes, then they stopped responding and never sent replacements. Not only is there no metal in any of my shoes, the two pairs with holes were brand new and never worn, as I showed them with photos.
My guess is that they have gotten in over their heads and can't keep up with orders, or else other stuff is going on that is affecting the production and customer service. I'm bummed because I have been wearing their socks for years now, so any suggestions for other companies would be appreciated.

Hi, checking socks threads today. I'm sorry for your bad experience with Viccel, absolutely horrible and frustrating, I will stay away from that brand.

I have a lot of quality socks, from the best british and italian producers. You can find a very wide selection at Mes Chaussettes Rouges.

Thanks for the feedback. I saw some appealing styles, but these negative reports thow me off. On the other hand there are several reliable traditional producers where sourse good quality from.

Could you name a few, please? Thanks.
Viccel’s haven’t lasted as long as I’d like and their over-the-calf socks always roll down though that may be due to length of my legs.

I have a big collection of socks, mostly in wool (at least 90%), all over the calf, the only ones a gentleman should consider in my opinion.

I can name a few brands: Pantherella, Bresciani, Sozzi, Ciocca, Palatino, Gallo, Turnbull&Asser, Gammarelli, Mazarin, Amidé Hadelin.

Viccel are a complete waste of money and poor value.

Some socks shrink at the foot, others shrink at the ankle and other shrink in length.
This company does not know how to make socks,
they are a disgrace.

Bought about 100 pairs of Viccel.
100% of wool/silk are duds.
30% of cotton pairs are good, the rest of the cottons shrink or lose elastic stay up power.
