Don't know about the natty oil tan, never heard of it before. Make your build with a mini lug commando half sole and I'm all in! That may be what you meant anyway? Let's do it...this round or the next! That'll be a first for any Viberg chukka that I've ever seen. That's one rugged trail chukka! Maybe that's the name...The Trail Chukka or the Urban Trail Chukka, lol!
I think it is.

I was suggesting commando half sole and a commando heel with the leather slip in between. Do you want a Vibram heel instead?

Since Fok submitted the current designs to Viberg, most likely this would be for next round.

We could call it Mr. Trail Chukka.

Well, we already made a chukka and we're not allowed to propose a make up we've already done, so I went to Freemans for a MTO chukka instead. Not to mention...chukka's are underrated for some reason and a tough sell to the group. But I love them - even more than boots for the SoCal climate.

Agree. I got a chukka at the Freeman MTO too - black waxed flesh, nat midsole and black gloxi on 110.

I could go with the Vibram 705 half sole or the mini commando half sole - either way. Love "Mr. Trail Chukka"!

Mr. Trail Chukka it is.

I have a lot of Vibram soles. Let's do commando. The heel commando as well, yes?

Since billymax got the black WF chukka MTO(very nice indeed), he may not want a black CXL Chukka. Even though it's a 110.

Yes, commando heel too. @billymax might still be interested...it's a different leather and different sole than what he ordered. At least that's why I'm interested despite what I'm having built via Freeman's. Though I don't know if it's possible to have too many chukkas - they are just the perfect everyday shoe.

I don't even know when the next GMTO will be, so I guess we might be getting a little ahead of ourselves here, lol.

Questions:

1) Fango Horsehide - Just wanted to make sure that stitchdown is okay in the following model:

Model: Scout boot
Last: 110 last
Leather: Fango Horsehide (Maryam)
Construction: STITCHDOWN?
Sole: Stacked Natural midsole & Mini ripple sole
Eyelets: Brass eyelets
Notes: Gusseted tongue, pull tab Set-in tongue

Answer: Unfortunately all the washed horsehides from Maryam are too light to be done stitchdown. Will also have to double check stock for how many pars we could do. I would recommend something slightly heavier for stitchdown.

2) Is the boot underneath good, and is the leather available?

Model: Service boot
Last: 2045
Leather: Dark tan horse butt (Italy)
Construction: Stitchdown
Sole: Vibram heel with double leather sole
Eyelets: 7 eyelets- Antique Brass
Toebox: plain toe structured toe box
Notes: Non Contrast gusseted tongue- Smooth side, Pull tabs

Answer: 2.) This looks good, except the horse butt leathers are too stiff to do a gusseted tongue, and we do not have a dark tan horse butt, we only have Burgundy, Brown, and Black. I've attached pictures for you of examples of the Brown and Burgundy. Also, what heel?

Brown horse butt:

Burgundy Horse butt:

3) Is stitchdown an alternative possibility for the model below?

Model: Derby Boot
Last: 2030
Leather: Natural Horse - https://instagram.com/p/BTMOvmlAUig/
Construction: Goodyear welt, channelled insole
Sole: Leather, dovetail heel
Eyelets: 8 blind eyelets
Toebox: partially constructed toe (pingpong)

Answer: We're only doing the Derby boot welted. Also, I believe we just used up the last bit of Natural Horse, but everything else in that makeup looks good. We might be able to restock the Natural Horse, I will have to look into that. Otherwise the smooth Natural CXL would be good, or even the Fango Horsehide would look really nice on this, dependent on our stock.

I'm likely out this round but I'm curious what the attraction to the Scout boot (vs. the Service Boot) in this pair. Are there many supporters for it?

I think the natural horse leather was the selling point for the derby boot. Not as interesting in Natural cxl IMO.

@LA Guy

Hmm, well that's a bummer. If they could order more that would be great. Otherwise, how does everyone else feel about the Seed horsehide? We already have the slipper in Fango.

Sorry if it was posted but is there pictures description of Navy inferno? And can someone explain to me what the sole will look like? Is it like 3sixteen's make ups?

Personally, I like the Seed better. The no SD kind of killed it for me :(

I looked back to try and find the pic, it is not there. Possibly it could be similar to this (Navy Latigo RO)? we should get @LA Guy to confirm.
