YES, the only thing I don't like is the sole, but that wont come as a surprise.

I am in for StevenT's makeup as an alternative - I am mostly interested in a burgundy/red-brown French calf of some sort.

Below is a description of my preferred make-up (similar to Fok's second suggestion for this round but tweaked a bit):

    - Style: Service boot
    - Last: 2030
    - Leather: Copper task roughout - if they would do it, perhaps the middle portion (?quarter?) could be oiled similar to the partially oiled boondocker in the other thread (but with the part that is oiled reversed)
    - Eyelets: Brass
    - Toe Cap:straight or brogue cap toe (personally I have no preference)
    - Toe Box: Structured
    - Sole: Double Leather
    - Edge Trim: Natural

Just so you can see the color, my brogue cap-toe service boots in red dog, a more casual ruddy red-brown that doesn't stand out too much but is definitely unusual.

I feel that this might be interesting. Is it the color or the calf the is more important?

    Cheers,

    Fok.

For me it's the combo, want a reddish boot and from what I've seen that French calf is incredible, Hermes tannery right?

Agreed that the combo of French calf and reddish brown color is what appeals.

What colour is this? The whole make-up looks nice though.

Well, Hermes is not a Tannery, but the same supplier, yes. I like the suppleness of that lighter weight leather, and how it will wear and crease. I do like the red/brown color. You think that that a dainite sole as opposed to a wedge sole (more casual) or a leather sole (go all out fine)? I think that we'd want something with antique brass eyelets for sure.

I dunno, but I agree. It's something that's recent, so I'll ask Guy.
