+1 to this comparison to Barrie; I have a pair of oxfords on Barrie in 9E that fit me like a glove, and my Vibergs on the 2030 are a 9 that feel just a bit roomier in the toebox then the Aldens.
And are they the same in heel or are the Vibergs also a touch roomier there?

I'd say the Vibergs are a touch roomier in the heel, too. (Not to where they feel loose at all, but they don't "cup" my heels as closely as the Barrie oxfords do.)

Anybody have any long term experience with this leather? It really interests me. I know DR highlighted them in one of their patina posts, but they looked super beat and it put me off. Beyond that, I don't think I have seen much else in way of long term wear and development.
I have the 2030 pair. Not super long though roughly 10 wears. Super comfortable leather. It does feel like wearing a baseball glove sometimes as it doesn’t breathe as well as other leathers. A little more orange than the photos in real life. No break in required.

Anyone know when about drop 4 will occur? Curious to see their more fall/winter offers.

They’ve said on Instagram it’s happening soon. I think they drop every three months so probably the first week of October, since the last one was in July.

Time has come for me to get my first pair of Vibergs. going to be a 2030 last initially, with toe cap. Black.

What I havent figured is the leather of the boot. I really want a pair of horsehide. I see Viberg has a black horsehide version at their site, which looks amazing. However, this is marked at USA horsebutt, and I am cairly certain based on research that this is horween cxl tanned leather.

Do I have any other options to go with if I want a black horsehide boot from Viberg?
I've seen Rivetandhide has a Shinki version, but I have not seen this anywhere else, and it is in 1035 last without toe cap.

Is the horween cxl horsehide considered high level leather for boots?

Please educate me if I am staring myself blind at this horsehide thing. These'd be my grail boots and I really want to make sure I get the leather accordingly.

That pair is Horween black horsebutt. It is not Chromexcel though Horween is famous for their Chromexcel and shell Cordovan.

The two leathers were tanned differently, with Chromexcel being impregnated with many more oils, so it’ll be softer and more flexible. Horsebutt on the other hand will feel thicker and more rigid. Chromexcel will also develop grain/wrinkles over time, but Horween horsebutt can also have some grain.

My general feeling is that for your first pair you can approach it in two ways. 1) You want to pick everything exactly how you want it or 2) get something that fits your foot (the last)and your wardrobe that you will wear a lot and has a look you want after it's been worn, and don't get bogged down in the details.

I personally feel that all the leathers Viberg offers are of high quality and you should find a makeup that you like the color and the overall style and don't get too concerned whether it's Horween or Shinki etc. A lot of nuanced discussion in this thread on different leathers is often for people who have many multiples of pairs.

Some of the more "boring' leathers that are often over looked like oil tan or latigo are great leathers that are high quality and can take a beating.

If you are really set on specific leather your options will be more limited in style and last.

Superdenim has their kudu make ups on sale. I’m leaning towards stone I think.

FYI

And someone reviewed the stone makeup (good photos there)

There’s an inconsistency where it says the total is $463 but on checkout totals up around $582. At nearly $600 I’m going to pass. Nice shoes though.
