yeah a lot of the stuff i see here is just the product of shoes being in a box and being sent across the literal world while being tossed around, shifting, etc. just give em a quick horsehair brush and it'll be all good.

Black waxed flesh arrived today. Was supposed to have arrived yesterday but it was sent to Jersey instead of Philly. The box came destroyed, they didn’t package it in a box but instead wrapped it in bubble wrap and some plastic wrapping. But whatever one fewer box to keep around gathering dust. The boots were fine and were individually wrapped in plastic bags.

all the photos show a single row of stitching though. can it be stitchdown but only single row?

I usually equate viberg GYW with that single row.

Excellent pair Mike! Mine unfortunately came with some janky stitching and a darkish spot on the right boot.
Otherwise the color/shade is perfection.

@shopcanoeclub what do you think about this one? Just curious for a pros/sorta unbiased commentator here.. is that stitching a deal breaker? I'm leaning heavily on living with it/them, they are otherwise pretty stellar.. but also close to stellarly expensive ; ) they would never use this pair for example as the model for the photo shoot.. shouldn't all be up to or relatively close to that (photo shoot) quality?

The stitching isn’t a structural issue so I wouldn’t worry. That frayed stitch can be cut or singed off.

I'm with you mostly. Some of it is just how can they not snip it? Also the stitching around there is like a 6 compared to the 10s they'd use for a shoot, etc. so it's principle I guess..

I really don't see anything that would bother me enough to not keep them (I literally see it) but it wouldn't bother me at all. If you're standing on principle then you are right it's not a model worthy pair. I've seen worse with Alden shell.

How did you find the fit? your regular 2030 size or sized up?

I went 1/2 up from 2030. I tried the same as my 2030 (which I take 1/2 down from Brannock) but felt they were too tight across the toes. I do have more heel slip now, but I personally think it's better.

Note that my heel to ball brannock is 13, and heel to toe is 12.
