I gave up on the 2030 a while ago. If I'm paying all that money for boots I want them to actually fit. Lots of other options that do.

Of course, these are 1035, which I find both looks better and actually fits normal people feet.

Yes, these used to be $650. Kinda crappy of them to bump it like that, especially because just setting the baseline price at $720 would have been reasonable.

Viberg just keeps giving me little reasons to dislike them these days. Years ago I would have looked the other way. Now there are too many other good bootmakers competing for my limited wallet and closet space

Hi all,

I'm getting close to my first Viberg purchase and was hoping for some input on a few areas.

Do horsebutt and kudu hold up well in wet/snowy conditions? I've read that kudu doesn't require much maintenance but haven't found much information on horsebutt.

How do the 2030/1035 lasts compare to Alden's Trubalance last in terms of sleekness? I found a few posts on GYW that had top-down shots and Trubalance seemed to be very comparable in those pictures.

I have a pair of dark brown horse butt Vibergs and they do well in rain, ie. no spotting afterwards. Better than Cordovan or Calfskin, IMHO. Of course, YMMV.

I find the 2030 last to be more center pointed than the Trubalance last. The sizing is about the same: ex Barrie/Trubalance 10 -> 2030 10

No idea about the 1035

When I was at the 3sixteen viberg MTO event they mentioned they were raising the prices on all their product. Seems to be only new product at the moment. Don’t take this as gospel, just what I heard.

Also, if you’re having issues with the 2030, the 2040 may work a lot better. It’s got a much wider toe box in my experience.

The 1035 is much closer to the trubalance in terms of sizing and shape.

I go tts size in the 2030 and they fit fine

IMO, 1035 is a bit more rounded and tubular than Trubalance, which comparatively is a bit more chiseled with slight cut in to the toe on the outside. I don't know how this would compare to 2030.

For me, 9 in 1035 and 9E in Trubalance work well, but Trubalance is snugger and won't accommodate thick socks as well as the Vibergs.

I'm kind of crushing on that smoke kudu RO currently, but I thought it was exclusive to Brooklyn Clothing Vancouver. I keep telling myself they're darker than I'd prefer, but I still like them

Those are sharp. Miloh Shop mentioned the possibility of using that same leather for a boondocker type boot. Thinking I need one or the other

Will say though this batch looks darker than the pics of previous smoke kudu Vibergs

Which boot last would be the most similar to the Alden Barrie? 2030? Thanks.
