Its confirmed not to be acrylic, but they won't say what they use on the color 8 shell. Having handled both Alden shell and Maryam TPR, I wouldn't say they're that similar either.

Klein Brett did over in the Alden SF thread, but he wouldn't disclose what exactly it is.

Edit: AoM or Ealdwine first made the claim that it wasn't then he was asked and confirmed it isn't.

I thought it was acrylic too, looks like a duck acts like a duck and all that. Its definitely acrylic-like or adjacent

Its not unique, its actually the opposite its common. They even used TPR in their White's Collab they just did.

That is partially speculative to be honest. I haven’t actually confirmed that information with Alden. They protect their information pretty closely in general. But there have been some projects where people have stripped off the old finish using Reno Mat and re-applied a finish with off-the-shelf acrylic and gotten a similar look and feel.

I dont need anymore shoe cream so I would decline to have it included personally.
