As I recall, that’s one of @CMT1 ’s crazy dream boot makeups. Acres of shell!

Heh. Julian makes a pair, and they have a 20% off sale at least once a year. I'm just not an engineer boot kind of dude and while the idea of that much shell on a boot seems hilarious and awesome from an overkill standpoint, I know I'd never reach for them. I'd need to buy another faux marble column to install them as semi-sarcastic artwork in the house.

Like I did with the amaretto 2020s:

It cracks me up every time I walk by them!

I never posted the full run of amaretto pics, but rather than spam the thread I'll link the Imgur gallery for those interested:

I love them. And they fit really well, which is amazing - Given the dice roll of going up a half from my 2030 size this wasn't exactly guaranteed, but thankfully the 2020 last seems to work well with my feet.

Also, color #2 slippers from Tuesday:

I really hope to get some good wear on these this season.

What? Shell engineers wouldn't fit in in wine country?! ;) Engineers will never be my style either, so I feel you. Those #2 are looking great in the sunshine!

Thanks! They're a lot less obnoxious indoors, but not super different from the Rosewood CC Galways I wear so I'm used to pairing the color.

via dei coronari at via di San Simone?

Nice. Thank you for identifying the wallpaper for this room's closet area - It was left by the previous homeowners.

I cannot wait to be like "Oh that? You mean Via dei Coronari at Via di San Simone? In Rome? Where we went for our HONEYMOON? How could you not know this? Of course I immediately ID'd it, I'm surprised that you didn't etc etc " to a certain party person and watch her make with the scowls!

I'm imagining you excitedly saying to your significant other "honey! Some asshole on the internet has cracked the case!"

How on earth did you know that?

Smarmy answer: everyone on this thread can identify the construction method, last, and leather (or at least venture a guess) of a pair of viberg boots from across a room. Many on this forum can tell you the season of a pair of sneakers with just a glance, or the approximate age of a speedy pro. That one of us can identify a quasi-famous intersection in Rome (one of the most visited cities in the world) doesn't seem too surprising to me, particularly considering that most here are relatively well-healed, well traveled, or maybe just not American. There is a popular gelateria in the building on the left, featured in the recent CNN docu-series hosted by Stanley Tucci (my wife tells me that the cool kids call him Stan-Tu).

Less smarmy answer: I used to live in Rome.

He’s the previous homeowner

Nah, I wanted to decorate my daughter's room like Livia's villa at prima porta but my wife reminded me that the next owners would probably just use the room to take photos of their shoes. Which I'd heartily endorse, obviously.
