Struck through is grey core right? Black cxl is either the brown core or struck through grey core yeah?
I've never heard it called that, but I think so, yeah. I don't think the flesh side would ever look as black as the grain, if that's what you're getting at.

Holy crap, those are fantastic. @Sschaffer24

How did the 2055 sizing work out?

I sized these size 9, same as 2030 for me. I have the Natural CXL Boondockers that DR dropped this summer in size 8.5 and they're a little snug, but comfortable. These are absolutely perfect. I went up a half size because I'm likely more an 8.75 and DR instructed me these would fit slightly tighter than my Boondockers.

What’s this make up? I must have missed it somewhere back in the string.

They're these:

NIce! The first time I have seen the 2055 in a cap toe. The cap does come out huge with the wide last up front. I can also see with the GYW instead of stitchdown, you get a higher profile. I have the Mushroom Chamois from S&S on this last and my toes tend to hit the vamp a little more than I wish. This GYW version looks roomier.

It's hard to comment on the difference between my boondockers and these because they're a half size difference, but I can definitely say that comparing the feel of them in the toe box (and specifically vertically) I would agree they're roomier in volume. They don't feel overly large or too pronounced or anything, but they're not as sleek as the Toscanello Chelsea's I have on, that's for sure.

@TennesseeWill do the Lucchese ever go on sale? I've been looking for a black side-zip boot but the price is… a couple hundreds more than I'd like.

@DoubleDouble, yeah man. I picked these up from Snake Oil with a 30% discount. They drop the last sizes into Last Chance, and sometimes stack discounts on anything in that category.

Had some credit too, so total was $298 all-in.

Alternatively, I’ve seen these black suede on eBay quite a bit. If you’re similarly disinclined toward leather soles, might be the route to go since you’ll want to get them resoled.

I’ve been in these boots for over 12 hours at the moment, and they are supremely comfortable.

Like @barlos said, you can find a good discount if you search around.

what’s your size? I know of one pair going back...and no, it’s not mine! These babies are staying! Haha.
I mean, just out of curiousity, what size would that be
