What’s sizing like on the 310s? Half down from 2030 or the same?

DR’s sizing page will tell you to take the 310 in the same as your 2030; my experience has been that this can be true (I have the same size in each), but if your 2030 is roomy, you may want to size down.

E.g., my 2030 size is great in width, but is a bit long in length; my 310 in the same size is fine with boot socks, but it’s definitely more roomy than the 2030 all around; I will likely size down .5 on my next 310, because the EEE toe box in those things is ENORMOUS!

310 Essex also on the .com. Weird Viberg isn’t highlighting the fact the Essex used in these drops is Horsebutt.

Has anyone here owned natural Essex and have any strong opinions either way about it? I saw some Rancourt pics of how it ages, and it just looks really dirty.

I guess it's possible that the .com's stock is cowhide. Wouldn't be surprising given the issues they had lasting the horsebutt.

I bought some 2020 in size 9 and they are incredibly comfortable. I have 5 pairs of 2030 in 9.5, beginning to wonder if I’m truly a 9. What do you guys think? View attachment 1478852
I don’t think it’s as simple as that. 2030 is an E last and 2020 more of a D, but the 2020 also had more aggressive sculpting to make the foot shape. There are examples in here of people who size up .5 for 2020 and people who wear same as they do in 2030. Only way to be sure is to try.

Edit: Fixed for being wrong

I thought people sized up on 2020 due to the narrow last?

Congrats on finding a pair of incredibly comfortable Vibergs - it's awesome when you feel like you have a size/last combination nailed. Seems a little odd sizing down from the 2030 though - sounds like you need an opportunity to try a 9 and even an 8.5 in the 2030.

Some people do, especially if they find 2030 to be a little snug as is or they have wide feet but I wouldn't say that's a universal truth by any means and many wear the same size. I wouldn't adjust your 2030 sizing based on how your feet fit in a completely different last.

Not surprising to me if you don't have wide feet. 2020 is as long or longer than 2030 and has a less sadistic toe box shape.

I wore my 2020 all morning today and I think I'm somewhere between the 8.5 and 9. Its not as drastic as I thought it would be as a last coming from the 2030. I'm just going to have to pick up an 8.5 at some point and compare it. That or Brett can slow down on all the 2020 shell releases....
