I picked up the anise calf derby boots. I'd been eyeing those for a while. Interesting that different retailers have it on different soles. This will be my first time trying Ridgeway (and also the 2020 last and derby boot pattern).

The color of the French binding also differs from retailer to retailer. Not sure if you noticed that

Why doesn't Viberg spend two minutes putting this information into their descriptions anymore? They used to write blog entries on the different types of leathers they use. Now they can't even be bothered to write a bullet point?

I have been thinking about a relast on an unstructured 2040 and grabbed a pair off eBay the other day just to see it in person and I think it looks great. Definitely would buy a pair if they made them more. Also, these don’t fit me, so drop me a message if you want them for what I paid. 10 eyelets is cool too.

I did not, that's interesting. I hope my boots come as pictured, I prefer the black binding and sole.

Jeez I hope so. 2040 is my favorite last, and 2030 might be my least.

lmao my relast of this boot came back without a cap toe, and with a partially structured toe. Vaya con dios amigo.

Do we think dot com will stop releasing old school 2030 make ups, ie unlined heavy weight leather and unstructured toes.

On the note of unstructured toes, they seem to do it the best i wonder how they keep the toes to keep from creasing really nasty. Ive seen some trumans where toes just get really creased... maybe not just Truman since there QC has been consistently trash but even some other makers even on their plain toes really get unsightly..

This is the Anise Calf Suede. How would I differentiate the insoles (new vs. old)? They do have a leather insole.
