Yes, no denim I have fits comfortably over the shaft, need at least a 17 inch opening. I'm contemplating contacting Brian the Bootmaker to see if he can narrow the shaft on these, I have way too much room for my chicken legs.
When I read Brian the Bootmaker my first thought was that you were going to ask where he gets his wide-legged denim.
That would be the less expensive option for sure ?
That's always been my hesitation. I think my widest denim is around 16" leg opening

Might be 1035 based on the shape of the toe. Hard to tell. WF does lean more to Munson shape over almond shape.
