I'd say whether you size down from 2030 is going to depend on your foot volume and instep. I have a high instep and while I'd certainly be fine in length and width going down .5 for 2055 I would have had to deal with a less than fun break in over the top of my foot. Even going with the same size as 2030 I'd describe the instep as snug for my feet, albeit comfortable. If you have normalish feet I'd say go down .5 from 2030.

FWIW both viberg and S&S recommend same size as 2030 whereas DR says to go down another .5

Yeah I call Division Road the Seattle Shoe Strangler for their sizing recommendations. They basically start 1.5 down from Brannock ?

People getting sized at DR ?

Well in their defense, I bought my first pair of Vibergs a half size too big (they felt ok because I had thicker socks on) and it wasn’t until later than I realized 12 fit ok, but 11.5 was a beautiful glove on my feet. Starting too small and working up probably makes sense.

S&S and DR also recommend going down a full size from brannock for 2030, which seems a bit much. I think most people size down a half for 2030/1035/2040.

Your brannock is about a 13?

I size 1 down from brannock for 2030 and 110. Perfect fit for me.

My experience too. DR got me to size down another 0.5, and the smaller size in some ways felt bigger, since my foot was appropriately fit into the widest part of the boot. I'm 8.75 on the Brannock, happily wearing 7.5 in 2030/1035.

⬆️ This.

I did the same. 11D brannock and am size 9.5 in 2030/1135. I have a high arch so they are tight across the top of my instep but loosen up in a week or so and all fit well.
Can’t stop thinking that all D width folks going a half size down have been incorrectly sized.

I tried 1 down in 1035 and it worked but felt off so now I take 0.5 down at 11 Viberg size.

I've asked before, but folks who go >= 1 size down: what is your Viberg size relative to your heel to ball Brannock measurement? I'm 11.5 heel to toe, but if I go by my heel to ball (12 C) I take a full size down.

It surprises me that all the people (especially retailers) that espouse matching the widest part of the foot/boot never mention heel to ball measurements.
