not that into 2020 and I already have 2030 bourbons. I like the boot pattern otherwise.

Not sure why they're pushing 2020 so hard...

Got these of mrp for half off. Wasnt sure how I was going to feel about them (never owned 2020, never had a derby, I generally prefer cap toes, and wasn’t sure how the GYW/storm welt would look).mrp only had whole sizes and I am a 9.5 in 2030, ended up risking it and getting the 9. I have very narrow feet, but it turned out great surprisingly, now I’m questioning my 9.5 in the 2030. Anyway, these are beautiful boots, even with the GYW. The build is very good, no real flaws other than a little asymmetry in the celastic(?) toe. Otherwise QC was great. I do wish these were stitchdown and had speedhooks, but for the price, ??? anyway ✌?

I wish it were stitchdown, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Very interesting color.
for the boots, yes. For the balmorals, I dunno, that would seem strange to me. The 270 degree stitchdown is pretty typical for workboots made in the PNW, and into western Canada, but maybe bit strange on a pair of closed lacing shoes that are more formal she inspired. I like mashups, but maybe more obvious ones, like sneaker boots, etc...

Does anyone have any experience comparing the 2050 last vs 2020? I wear a 6.5 in Viberg's black calf chelsea with a snug fit with thin socks. Was trying to confirm my order for the Halkett boot in 6.5 would be a good fit. My other size reference is a 7 in 2030 service boot with extra cushion DT socks.

Those are the Tochigi cowhide, right? I have a pair of those too, they're lovely.

Here is a reply from Jonathan at Viberg about 2020 sizing: “The 2020 is an updated version of our Cantilever last, and fits somewhere between the 2030 and the 2050. It is slightly more narrow in the waist and forefoot than the 2030. If your feet are an E width or wider, I'd suggest going up half a size. Otherwise, your 2030 size should fit you well.”

Stitch down had a pretty good write up about it.

I don’t have any experience with 2020 yet, but for what it’s worth, i found the 2050 sizing advice of going half up from your 2030 size to be perfect for my foot. I have a snug fit on 2030 size 8 with thin to medium socks, and a size 8.5 on the Chelsea has basically the same fit with thin socks.

Seems like Brett put a lot of work into the 2020 last. I like the idea of it but just wish they would offer additional widths for my wide feet. Since the base is like a combination of B/D width I’d like a C/E combo. Know it’s not gonna happen but it would be kind of cool if it did.

[EDIT] Fixed the combo last widths

It might be a sign of customers being less excited but I don't think which hours during the day it sells out matters much to Viberg.
I think luxury spending in the time of coronavirus has also decreased.
