I always assumed garnet was color 2. It’s a nice shade, more reddish and brighter than the color 4 they used in the past.

Color #2 and Garnet look the same to me...

Allen Edmonds Garnet Shell Cordovan next to an Alden Color #2 Shell Cordovan. Note that the Alden is unfinished, but the AE seems to have some light finisher on it.

I called them. They told me that color 2 is less red and more like purple in comparison with garnet. Having said that, I did decide to cancel my preorder.

This is consistent with the way it displays in my browser. Having said that, I can appreciate the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Thought about canceling but I'm staying. Excited about the possibilities.
