Can you wear Viberg Service Boots through TSA Pre-Check or do they have a steel shank?

I've seen a cross section of a Viberg boot, and yeah, they are not gonna work in precheck.

I love my Vibergs, but serious, wear Vans or something through the airport.

A while back I was already in the process of taking off my Vibergs in the precheck line. The TSA guy told me I didn't need to take my boots off in the precheck line. I told him they have a steel shank in them which is why I was already taking them off. It wasn't until after I passed through the scanner that he told me he thought I meant a knife of some sort by using the word shank. I learned not to use that phrase again in order to avoid a potentially dangerous misunderstanding.

Yeah, I just say "I know, but these always set off the detector".

Interesting story coming up but first gotta say I love the Natty Waxed SCSB's. I'm wearing them almost every day. Lucky happenstace that Viberg put on brass eyelets instead of the spec'd antique brass as they really set the boot off. They are awesome.

So, I'm eating some Egg Foo Yung with the yummy gravy and my fork falls off the table and winds up spraying my left boot at the forefoot full of gravy.

I freaked! All those spots. Uh oh. So, I try to rinse the spots off with water but of course the water just slides right off.

Damn it. So, I just continue with my meal and 2 minutes later I look down and no spots! They were completely absorbed.

Moral of the story? Waxed Flesh loves Chinese food.

Yeah, leather, particular waxed and oiled leather, the best way to deal with oil stains is usually to just let them absorb it. With a piece of leather as thick as Viberg uses, nine times out of ten, oil stains will simply absorb into the body of the leather.

Anyone interested in a new set of makeups, and particularly, the Echo boot, soon?

    Cheers,

    Fok.

    Hmmmmm. Maybe:smile:

Hey Fok, did Viberg make a slight error not putting the spec'd antique brass eyelets on the SCSB and the Sinister Oxford as well as not notifying you?

IMHO, the brass lucked/worked out great on the SCSB but on the Sinister, they don't work for me. I'm gonna have to change them like Raneleigh is doing.

Fok, is there ever any potential of another half-japanese oxford? Really love that sorta bulbous oxford look. Sadly, I wasn't into vibergs when that make up was run.

The answer is... maybe. I'm loathe to redo many old orders - it takes away from the specialness of the first order, but if it's so popular and demanded it makes the HoF, then that's a different story...

    Cheers,

    Fok.

Definitely understand that. I love a lot of the derbies Viberg does for Japanese stockists which seem to never be available with any retailer in the states, and importing prices are great either heh.

    @LAGUY
I've asked the above question a few times.

    It should be answered.
