If customs form is marked correctly, you won't have to.

This. Items made in Canada are not subject to customs on the way back.

So, I will put up a poll later today, but I've priced out three boots so far, just so you guys have something to discuss The prices, as you can see, vary considerably depending on the makeup. I've also received my own boots, which would retail for about $720, if people are actually interested.

    A) Style: Service boot
    Leather: black standard hide
    Last: 2030
    Toe: Plaintoe. Unconstructed toe.
Sole: Natural welt, natural single leather midsole, leather or dainite sole
Hardware: 7 gun metal eyelets (regular confirmation)
    Tongue: black
    Black stitching on upper
Price (approximate, including shipping in the CONUS, and with shipping outside the CONUS set at $30) = $685

    B) Style: Service Boot with top band stitching
Leather: Iced Mocha CXL or Brown Horsehide
    Last: 2030 Last
Toe cap: Brogue Toe Cap unstructured
Sole: double leather soles, single leather with vibram 705 half soles, or dainite sole.
    Hardware: 7 Brass Eyelets
Tongue: black or dark brown leather (CXL is not usuable on bellows tongues)
Stitching on uppers: Brown stitching (tonal)
Price (approximate, including shipping in the CONUS, and with shipping outside the CONUS set at $30) = $735

    C) Style: Service boot
    Leather: French black calf
    Last: 2030
    Toecap: Plaintoe. Unconstructed toe.
Sole: Natural welt, natural single leather midsole, leather outsole
Hardware: 7 gun metal eyelets (regular confirmation)
    Tongue: black
    Black stitching on upper
The boot would be distressed by hand by soaking, “balling the shoe” wet in a burlap sack, and then drying. All inconsistencies in the boots would be considered features of the distressing process and should not be considered defects.
Price: (approximate, including shipping in the CONUS, and with shipping outside the CONUS set at $30) = $805 (the distressing process is considerable work).

B intrigues me. Think dainite would be good for CXL but if horsehide has the same texture as Guidi horsehide, I think it'd only look good with leather soles.

Btw, what's the lead time on this?

Ah, but you can see the sample that was made, here: http://viberg.com/blogs/journal/8367827-distressed-service-boot, except that it would be in black. The french calf is just softer, so it takes to this kind of treatment better, as far as I know. A heavier, stiffer, leather, would not work for this project.

Nice. I think that the Iced Mocha chromexel is really pretty awesome.

I thing that horse can look good with Dainite. Certaintly, I've seen a lot of pretty interesting "real" workman's dress boots, in horsehide, with dainite, but I do agree that a leather sole might be more compatible.

The lead time is 8-10 weeks from when we place the order to shipping to us. We would try our best to deliver the week that we receive the boots. We are about as close to Victoria are you get (Seattle + 1 day), but everything goes through the main customs hub in San Francisco, which services the entire West Coast. During non-Holiday times, I find that things pass customs within 48 hours. But customs are slower during Holidays.

Okay, so, I am looking to find out the pricing on two more options, and then we will go to poll. Anything that gets at least 4 votes, I will put on the store for preorder. The price presented will be 50% of the final price. This is a non-refundable deposit. However, if there are not enough orders, you would get a full deposit. The terms will be clearly laid out in the product desscription. Any customer will have 10 days, total, to shop on the store, and then the store will be closed. We will not overstock, so if you want something, get it. It will probably not come up again.

those 3 options do sound pretty nice, but I'd have loved to see some different lasts used on the boots than just the 2030 last on them all...
but as you said, I'm gonna think about something nice and then I'll pm you or post it in here!
btw. if anyone wants to see some evo on some brown HH boots on a dainite (option 2 just on the 310last), then I'll gonna throw some up in a few!
