Me too - I asked a couple of pages back. I haven't got my MTO yet or I would.
1950 horsehide service boots, 310 last, with added Vibram topsole:
That's what I'm talking about! Nice!
Is it just me or does the 310 last look very similar to Whites boots?
Yes, but Whites boot kill my feet!
Similar to the 461 (sprung toe) from White's, but a little different in shape, and notice the "heel cup" or whatever you call it at the back of the Viberg, which White's doesn't have. Gives the Viberg more of a work boot look. Also, I don't own White's but I got several leather samples, and none quite matched up to the incredibly nice quality of the Viberg leathers. Not that White's are not great boots in their own way....
I thought they both use cxl from horween?
I have both boots...Viberg Service boots in the 310 last and a pair of White's CWB's in the 461 Last. The Viberg 310, has a more up turned toe than the 461 and a wider toe box. The Heels are wider in the Vibergs as well. I feel more secure with the heel in my White's but they are also two entirely different boots so it's hard to compare. As far as quality goes, BOTH are top notch. The leather for each (Ice Moch CXL for the Viberg & Brown CXL for the White's) were perfect, but different all the same. White's were softer and Viberg's were stiffer. Both are super comfy but if I HAD to choose one for all day comfort, it would be the White's. I bought the White's for work purpose only and the Viberg's for more dressy casual stuff, hence the very different configurations,
I love them both
Is the MTO email working? I tried to send an email via [email protected] but the mail was bounced.
FYI; if any of you missed out on the sample sales a few pairs have showed up on ebay.
thanks for the input, the difference is probably obvious when you put them side by side
Viberg Service Boot, Loden Green, Brogue Toe Cap, 8 Eyelets, Commando Sole, No box Toe, 2005 Last
out-of-the-box the leather looked parched & dull.
.... so i gave it a "lift". initially cleaned them w/Lexol leather cleaner, then 1st coat, Lexol conditioner
drying out after the 2nd coat, Sedgwick leather conditioner
2 days after treatment has sipped in & dry to touch. 'topped it off with a 3rd coat, Obenauf LP. i know some will disagee w/the conditioning overkill, but i thought i'd give it a feast before hitting the road. 'started out really dark, but they've lighten up quite a bit after 5days of wear.
Great boots! Enjoy!
anyone get tracking from the last round of sample sale yet?
Separate names with a comma.
