Goodyear-welted boots don't have a longer life expectancy. I'm also not sure who you'd find to convert them. That sounds like a hugely bad idea to try.

    Send them back to Viberg.

Personally I would send them to Viberg for a resole.
Generally, not many folks are good at resoling the stitch down construction.

However, if you are hooked on sending them somewhere in the states, I have heard great things about:
http://instagram.com/thisisnotshoerepair http://www.williesshoeservice.com/ from 2 reputable sources. One of which was on a pair of Vibergs.
    Best of luck.

I'm a size 41 in meermin. What size do you recommend on the 2030 last?

    Doesn't Meermin have multiple lasts?

Also, forgot to mention socks: I wear thicker wool socks with my Vibergs, and with dress shoes I typically wear thin dress socks.

Send to Viberg. I found out the hard way that they are the only place that can keep the double row stitching. The stitching on my boondocker resole is awful and it was done by a highly reputable place.

Thanks for all the comments on resoling - guess Viberg is the place to go - will probably have to judge overall cost of sending there vs. another shop and absorbing the risk of royally screwing up my favorite boots!

If you end up deciding against Viberg, any shop that's decent in general and can match the stitching (and use similar thread) will probably be just fine. For the average resole job, only the outer row of stitching will need to be redone, so it's not all that dissimilar from resoling the average boot with a stitched sole. White's and Nick's have two rows of stitching that need to be dealt with.

This thread (http://stylezeitgeist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7128) on StyleZeitgeist is full of folks sending in high-end fashion boots (that's not a pejorative) from the likes of A1923, Guidi, Layer-0 to various cobblers, and some places like The Firm seem to be able to avoid fucking up the aesthetic much. I wouldn't trust places like B. Nelson to do that.

With all that said, I'd likely send mine to Viberg.

Brian the bootmaker has done it on quite a few pairs and they have turned out quite nice.

Brian does amazing work- he re-soled a pair of William Lennon boots I have. That said, I'd still send yours back to Viberg.

I just got my natural cxl mr porter vibergs. They are awesome. I got 10d, the same as my alden barrie/truebalance size and they fit well.

edit: and I just noticed I laced them differently on each boot, hahaha

Looks good. Gotta love their shipping. I'd definitely go with much shorter cuffs, though, even if it means rolling a few times.

I love Viberg and they make incredible boots -- and I'm sure this collab will be great -- but the comments in this Instagram are almost parodic at this point.

Viberg should take a photo of just the tip of a shoelace in the future, post it on Instagram, and see people go nuts.
