Make sure they write on the customs slip, that they are American made.

^ No they can tell the truth. If they say Canadian made it's no customs back to the US. They just need to make that clear. Country of manufacture is all that matters and Canada is duty free for the US.

I thought I heard that technically all of the components need to be from North America for NAFTA to apply, so Dainite or European/Japanese leather could invalidate it. I've never seen it happen, though. If the leather soles are from Germany, that's an issue, too.

I was reffering to America as a continent and not a country ;), so Canada fits into the made in America bracket.

I've heard people present that possibility. But generally if the box says made in Canada you won't get inspected. If they are, they probably won't get you on the soles. If they get you on the soles they should only charge it on that component. If they get you on the whole shoe, well, that's awful luck.

Not a fan. That said, it is something different. Still a great make-up

any comments on the ripple sole? i'm on the edge abit, otherwise an ideal pair for me.
I think that with that shape (1035), that the ripple sole is perfect. It has a bit of bulk, but is not as chunky as the 2060 sole, for instance. I think it definitely enhances that particular makeup.
