Do you have more pics of that in the sun? They look so dark without direct sunlight it's uncanny.

Viberg Bobcat Harness Leather resole by Baker's with Dr. Sole Raw Cord soles.

Ended up costing $120+ shipping

Those boots look like they've seen some pretty hard wear, but they still look real good.

That new sole looks like it'll also stand up to some pretty tough stuff as well.

Where did you get them resoled? I may try that with a pay of Alden's.

If he's a truth-teller, my guess is Baker's.

I love that resole job (x post from Alden thread) but he didn't tell me what that black sole is. It doesn't look like raw cord because its all black.

I'm thinking of sending in my Roys for this. Looks better than stock.

Such boot angst! I'm on the waiting list for the Leffot Cordovan #8, and the much more affordable CXL #8 could come up for sale (and subsequently sell out) any day. Shell is definitely worth it, right? I've been shopping for two months and feel like it will be two years before I score a pair... Pissed I didn't jump on the #8 cordovans sooner, but I had no idea a pre-sale would go that fast.

I don't see too many pictures of the CXL # 8 after a year or so of wear. That might save me 400 bucks... anyone?

If you want the shell, hold out for it. If you get the CXL you will only end up buying the shell later as that is what you really want. Of course you'll end up with two awesome pairs of boots, but like $2,000 in the hole....

CXL restocks are coming to viberg.com

Shell vs. CXL -- got to know what you want in terms of looks, durability, etc. Maybe shell is not what you need in a casual workboot. Maybe it is...
